Jimi Hendrix on Nam!

In response to a puerile anti-Vietnam question, by a Netherlands reporter, this is what *Jimi Hendrix said…

“Did you send the Americans away when they landed in Normandy?
That was also interference, but that was concerning your own skin. The Americans are fighting in Vietnam for a completely free world, as soon as they move out, the Vietnamese will be at the mercy of the communist, for that matter the yellow danger, China, should not be underestimated. Of course war is horrible, but at present, its still the only guarantee of peace.”

I think I just went from just an admirer to a fan.

P.S. Damn Jimi got "it!" So much so, he put "it’ in his music, his “Star Spangled Banner,” (which was boo'd @ the time) was a *tribute supporting the troops and their mission, how innovative! I often wonder why the “Blame America first” crowd that worship his music, ...can’t get "it."

LOL! Ridiculous! If you believe this, you must still believe in the tooth fairy!
Can you cite any reference of half-decent repute that backs up this quotation?

Next week: Political heavyweight Mama Cass lends vocal support to regressive taxation, Jim Morrison test fires the new Smith & Wesson models and Janis Joplin calls for the banning of all organised trade unions because "they're all commie bastards"...

@ Baxter,

Please allow me to respond...

"...If you believe this, you must still believe in the tooth fairy!"

Why the personal attack? It adds nothing to your argument. Why if something counterdicts your "world view" or the "mythology of your hero's" does your argument become so purile

"...Can you cite any reference of half-decent repute that backs up this quotation?"

If you think Joseph Tartakovsky, Asst. Editor, of The Claremont Review of Books is some kind of disreputable, intellectual lightweight... so be it. (sigh)

It saddens me you didn't notice that I also posted an audio link (see hat tip) at the bottom of this post... listen to it and make your own judgement I'll be interested in your perspective

Finally, do your own homework, google "Jimi Hendrix views on Nam" it will be an eye opener.

P.S. They're not all "commie bastards"... (lol)
